SG Council
The Silver Gate Student Council's goal is to promote School Spirit and Community involvement. Early in the school year each classroom chooses who their representative will be. When chosen, their commitment is that they will attend one meeting a month in the Auditorium and participate in all the fun and civic activities planned throughout the school year. At the end of the school year council members are rewarded with the knowledge that they made Silver Gate Elementary a better place and a thank you and farewell party!

Silver Gate Elementary thanks the past Student Council Members for their hard work and contributions that have added to the beautification and spirit of our school and to the betterment of others. They include:
  • Raising funds for the Tsunami Victims of Indonesia
  • Raising funds for the Hurricane Katrina Victims
  • Children Silhouettes attached to the school yard fence
  • New State of California and U.S. Flags
  • New Curtains for the Auditorium and Cafeteria
  • Reinstated Friday Spirit Day

2006/2007 School Year Activities

As the Student Council is being chosen, we are already off and running with a kick-off contest (ending 9/29). We are collecting and recycling used ink cartridges, iPODs, PDAs, cell phones and laptop computers. This recycling program will continue throughout the year.

School Spirit Fridays begin October 6 and will continue throughout the year. Wear Silver Gate T-shirts, Silver Gate buttons (on Sale for $1.00 in Room 14), or blue and white. There will be monthly prizes at each grade level for the classes showing the most school spirit.

  • Th 26 Family Lunch/Can Drive Join your child at school for a special lunch. Bring aluminum cans too for our ongoing can drive.
